My Story

My Story

I’ll tell you my story, full of passion and pain.
I’ll tell you my story, with nothing to gain.

I’ll tell you my story, void of humor and laughter.
I’ll tell you my story with no happily ever after.

I’ll tell you my story, the truth behind the lie.
I’ll tell you my story, about how my soul died.

I’ll tell you a story with out goodness or pleasure.
I’ll tell you a story, its not one you will treasure.

My story is mine, no one else’s to tell,
It’s how I survived my own personal hell.

Late Night Phone Calls

Late Night Phone Calls

Phone's ringing...buzz...buzz.
Phone's ringing, answer it.
Holding this piece of plastic that could turn my life on its axis is driving me mad.

Phone's ringing...buzz...buzz.
Answer it, answer it.
Can't answer it, its too late.
Nothing I do will change the fate of the life lost on the other end.

Phone's ringing...buzz...buzz.
Can't answer it, it's too hard. Don't answer and its not real yet.
Can't answer it.
I don't want to feel the pain I know will come the second I slide my finger over the screen and my life changes as the person on the other end sobs through the news.

Phone's ringing...buzz...buzz.
Phones ringing, answer it.

Silence....

Friendly Silence

I knew a boy named James once.

He would ride his bike by my house while I sat on my porch and cried; afraid of the yelling inside.

I knew a girl named Molly once.

She was scared all the time and never talked to anyone but me.

I knew a boy named James once.

He would walk me home from school so the popular girls wouldn’t call me names and throw gum in my hair because I didn’t dress or act like them.

I knew a girl named Molly once.

She would eat lunch alone under the tree outside and wear long sleeves even when it was hot.

I knew a boy named James once.

He always put a flower in my locker on my birthday. It was the only gift I ever got.

I knew a girl named Molly once.

I asked her to prom but she refused. We sat in my backyard on prom night, talking and dancing like fools.

I knew a boy named James once.

He went away to college and I was all alone. Alone, with no one to talk to and no one who cared about me.

I knew a girl named Molly once.

I came home to visit her today, I always give her a flower for her birthday. Only difference is, this time, it I have to put the flower on her headstone instead of her locker.

I loved this girl named Molly once…
